The patterns on sand dunes must be as varied as snowflakes. I am constantly taking photographs of them. This image show two varieties. The small ripples are created by wind blowing dry sand. The other patterns are created when wet sand is blown by a strong wind. Carved out by the flying sand itself. They are virtually fingerprints of the wind.
