Forrest says, “This cover version was recorded in 2012 for a Projekt tribute to David Bowie that never came to fruition. ‘Warszawa’ is a deep, majestic, and mysterious piece. It is from Bowie’s Low — the first of his late-70s Berlin Trilogy of albums in collaboration with Brian Eno. My interpretation is predominantly acoustic with a hint of the exotic, complemented with ambient textures towards the end. I created my version using mandola, mandolin, baglama (small Turkish lute), cantaro (Mexican clay pot), Tibetan bell, violin, and synthesizer. One of the fascinating things about ‘Warszawa’ is that much of it is based on a Polish folk melody Bowie heard on a record he purchased in Warsaw.
