Sunflower, Mexican (Tithonia rotundifolia), packet of 30 seeds

I love this plant. No matter the soil, no, matter the condition….this plant will not disappoint. I live in Florida in pure sand and I must constantly replenish my nutrients because with the rains everything is washed away. I have dropped seeds in Florida sand and they will grow. Maybe not to full height, but once this plant sprouts, it will flower. I have had Hummingbirds kick off Giant Swallowtails to get to the nectar. The Hummingbirds made a nest in my favorite tree and they need nectar for their babies. Grow this plant for yourself and the pollinators, it is like a drive-in movie or a musical show. It will not disappoint. One more thing, if the wind, squirrels bend or break the branches, don’t cut off….it will self heal and you will have a ton of new flowers. Enjoy.
