Family: Legume (Fabacea) Annual. 55 days. Probably the epitome of open-pollinated bush green beans, Blue Lake is fast to make beans and slow to make strings. The most vigorous bean we’ve ever grown, germ took only 4 days in our trials and it seemed like every bean came up and prospered. This particular bean is well known to produce sweet, round in cross section, blue-green beanpods, 6 to 7 inches long on a self-supporting bush to 15 inches tall. Excellent choice for fresh harvest, market garden and home garden. Solid texture makes them an excellent choice for freezing and canning, as well.
